As Chief Revenue Officer, Matt is charged with monetizing Studio71’s premium published content. Matt heads up a national sales team in all key markets including New York, Chicago, Detroit and Los Angeles. His team works directly with marketers to align their message with the most contextually relevant content which appeals to their brand’s audiences via Studio71’s network of creators and channels. Matt oversees sales, ad operations, pricing, planning and yield teams to maximize revenue for Studio71 and its content publishers, helping to make Studio71 the fastest growing digital video network. Matt’s team leverages Studio71’s first party subscriber data to offer targeting and control over placement so that an advertisers’ message aligns with the right content. Matt’s team also ensures brand safety of media placement on Studio71’s published content through a product he helped create called Context, which scans audio and visual data via machine based learning, prior to human review which allows for advertiser assurance of running along side appropriate content for their brand.
Matt has 16 years of experience in both the digital and TV sales industries. Prior to Studio71 he spent the first half of his career on the Television side spending time at Discovery as well as A&E Networks selling a wide array of TV properties and products. In early 2010, he joined Hulu and was responsible for selling traditional advertising across the newly created digital video platform. Matt then helped launch and bring to market Shazam’s mobile TV product, Resonate, which provided a second screen experience for audio enabled TV content and advertisements. Matt later led AOL’s national video sales team where his focus was dedicated to video product releases, ad revenue, sales strategy and merchandising Aol / Verizon’s differentiated video offering across top holding companies and advertisers. Matt was responsible for revenue across all video products under the AOL, Microsoft, Millennial Media & Verizon umbrella as well as emerging Verizon video properties.
