Acclaimed short-form series Fully Blown, produced by Studio71 UK for BBC Comedy and BBC Three, has been nominated for Best Short-Form Scripted Format at the 2020 Broadcast Digital Awards.

The series is part of the BBC’s “Threesome” short-form strand of shows for BBC Three, that are each three episodes of three minutes, and showcase breaking new comedy talent. There are seven Threesome commissions per year from leading new comedy writers and performers.

In Fully Blown, two best mates Vanessa (Donna Preston) and Demi (Verona Rose) rise above their boring, sometimes painful lives by creating superstar rap personas – Starz and Gap C. These Southampton girls know you’ve gotta fake it ‘til you make it – and then fake it some more. But will their success ever catch up with their ambition?

Fully Blown is written by Donna Preston, Verona Rose and Sarah Morgan, directed by Ella Jones, and Executive Produced by Studio71’s Jody Smith, UK Creative Director and Tom Payne, Head of Content. Sarah Asante is the Commissioning Editor for the BBC.

The Broadcast Digital Awards celebrate the UK’s very best digital content, creators and channels, and will be announced at a virtual show on the 14 October 2020. Judged by some of the industry’s biggest names, the Broadcast Digital Awards span programmes, websites, apps, games and more.
