The acclaimed crime series “Case” has won two awards at this year’s prestigious Icelandic “Edda” Film & TV Academy Awards.

The award for best performance in a supporting role went to Birna Run Eiriksdottir for her role as Hanna. Steinunn Olina Thorsteinsdottir, who recently also accepted an award for best actress at the FIPA film festival in France, was chosen as winner in the category best actress in a leading role as Gabriella.

The Edda Awards are presented by The Icelandic Film and Television Academy (IKSA) to celebrate achievements in entertainment, and to promote Iceland’s TV and film industry.

About CASE

“Case” is the latest drama from acclaimed director Baldvin Z (“Trapped”, “Life in a Fishbowl”). The psychological crime thriller, in the tradition of “The Killing” and “Broadchurch”, explores the impact a single tragedy has on the fragile bonds of a small community, and how quickly the mask of respectability can slip to reveal the true face of evil lurking behind it.
