Red Arrow International is showcasing a broad slate of new shows at this year’s MIPTV, across scripted, formats and factual.

Internationally acclaimed drama “Cleverman” is back, with a second season of 6 x 1 hour episodes debuting at MIPTV. Produced by Goalpost Pictures and Pukeko Pictures for ABC TV (Australia) and SundanceTV (US), “Cleverman” Season 2 once again stars Iain Glen (Game of Thrones) and Frances O’Connor (The Missing).

Red Arrow’s brand new drama series “Einstein” is also heading to MIPTV. Produced by Zeitsprung Pictures for SAT.1 (Germany), the 10 x 1 hour procedural crime series stars Tom Beck (Alarm for Cobra 11) as the great grandson of Albert Einstein, who is forced to work with the police to solve crimes using his brilliant but eccentric mind. The show has proved a huge hit on SAT.1 and has been recommissioned for a second season.

Formats include the emotionally charged social experiment “Look Me in the Eye”, which is in production for TF1 Group (France), SBS (Australia) and ProSiebenSat.1 (Germany). In the show, estranged people are brought back together to share two minutes of silent eye contact, in a bid to help them to reconcile their relationships where all other efforts have failed. Other new formats include “Married At First Sight: Second Chances” for FYI (US), a spin-off format from the international hit “Married at First Sight” following two popular participants who get another shot at love after not quite finding it the first time around; and “Kiss Bang Love”, the provocative dating format that sees singletons kiss their way to love and which has sold to over 11 territories including productions in the US (FYI) and Germany (ProSieben).

Heading Red Arrow International’s factual line up is “Empire Builders”, an epic documentary series from Pilot productions for PBS (US) that explores 10 of history’s great empires, from the Romans to the Raj and the Ottomans to the Egyptians, by visiting significant sites that defined their achievements and legacy. Also, “The Greatest Crimes of All Time”, a 10 x 1 hour series produced by Maximus Film for kabel eins (Germany) which takes a revealing look at crimes that have shocked the world, featuring never-before-seen archive material, and brand new footage from the actual crime scenes; and “Motive to Murder” (78 x half hour) from US factual producer Bellum Entertainment – a fascinating, fast-paced and forensic look into some of the real-life murder cases that have made the headlines around the world.

Henrik Pabst, Managing Director of Red Arrow International, said: “Our slate of over 400 hours of new content this market reflects our continued focus on presenting a wide range of shows across all genres. The scripted offering is a bold mix of English and non-English language series – from ‘genre’ to procedural; our factual slate represents our renewed focus on this genre, bringing together high-quality and impactful US and European crime and history documentaries; and a formats slate that pushes creative boundaries with new social experiments and entertainment shows from our US, UK and Scandinavian production companies.”

Red Arrow International exhibits at MIPTV at stand P4.C10.
