Red Arrow International has acquired distribution rights to Seven Network Australia’s hit reality series “House Rules”. The series grew audiences from its launch and provided a huge 88% increase across target demographics for its final week. A second season of “House Rules” has been confirmed and is in production. Produced by Seven Network Productions, “House Rules” features six couples putting their homes on the line for a life changing prize: their entire mortgage will be paid.

Therese Hegarty, Head of Production and Rights at Seven Network, says: “We are delighted with the success of this remarkable new format. It totally captured the imagination of our audience and has also created a great deal of buzz internationally. We are very excited to be working with such a great partner as Red Arrow on this project.”

Henrik Pabst, Senior Vice President Format Acquisitions says: “Bringing a killer twist to the makeover genre and a win-win-situation for everyone involved, ‘House Rules’ swept the nation. Congrats to Seven on their success and we are thrilled to present ‘House Rules’ within our lineup for MIPCOM.”

House Rules

Six couples put their own homes on the line for a huge, life-changing prize: The winner will have their entire housing loan paid off. Six teams travel the country together, and each week one couple hands over the keys of their own home to their competitors who will do a complete renovation in seven days. Each homeowner issues their own set of “House Rules” – a list of dos and don’ts of what is allowed during the renovation. But rules are meant to be broken! How far can each team go? A hard-core group of professionals, as well as the homeowners themselves, will judge the result.
