Snowman Productions Denmark to become regional hub

Red Arrow Entertainment Group is to centralize its Scandinavian production activities into Snowman Productions Denmark. As a result of this recent strategic review, Snowman’s Norwegian production outpost will be closed down in early 2018. Jørgen Steinheim, Managing Director Snowman Norway, and Dag Obert Eine, Head of Productions Snowman Norway, will leave the company in 2018 to pursue new opportunities.

Red Arrow will concentrate its production and growth plans for Scandinavia in Snowman Productions Denmark, which has been part of Red Arrow since 2011. The company produces entertainment and social experiment formats which have proved successful in their home market and around the world. Snowman Denmark is led by CEO Michael von Würden, who, along with Rasmus Steentoft, Chief Creative Officer, and Lars Fønss, Executive Director, have recently agreed to a multi-year extension of their contracts with Red Arrow.

Current Snowman Norway productions, including Married at First Sight for Discovery Norway, will continue to be produced by Snowman Norway in collaboration with Snowman Denmark in 2017, and from 2018 onwards Snowman Denmark will work closely with local partners.

Jan Frouman, CEO & Chairman of Red Arrow Entertainment Group, said: “Snowman Denmark has become an international TV format powerhouse. It makes sense to now centralize our Scandinavian operations with Michael and his team, and focus on expanding their business. I would also like to thank Jørgen Steinheim, Dag Obert Eine and their team at Snowman Norway for their hard work and commitment over the last five years. Red Arrow wishes them all the best for their future endeavors.”

Snowman Productions has grown to become a crucial hub for format development for the Red Arrow Entertainment Group. The social experiment format Married at First Sight is one of the world’s most successful relationship shows and an international hit, with local productions sold by Red Arrow International to over 25 countries, and sales of the Danish, UK, US and Australian shows to over 130 countries. In the US, a fifth season has aired on A&E’s Lifetime, and in Australia, the latest season on Nine, in a new multi-night format featuring ten couples, has beaten channel records. Snowman’s other recent new formats include innovative dating show Kiss Bang Love, which has sold to over eleven territories including FYI in the US and ProSieben in Germany; Pregnant with a Stranger for Kanal 4 Denmark and State of Hate for Kanal 5 Denmark, which Red Arrow International launched this week at MIPCOM; and Snowman’s smash-hit production of new format Buying Blind for TV3 Denmark, which is created by Red Arrow’s Kinetic Content and launched this week with immediate commissions from Nine Network in Australia, RTL Netherlands, and pick-ups in France and Belgium.
