• Strengthens Red Arrow’s foothold in the world’s largest production market
• Expands the Group’s factual entertainment slate and global distribution business

Red Arrow Entertainment Group has acquired a majority stake in Karga Seven Pictures, a television production company based in Los Angeles. Karga also benefits from strong ties to the Turkish TV market and has offices in Istanbul. Founded in 2008 by Sarah Wetherbee, Emre Sahin and Kelly McPherson, Karga has established itself as a leading creator and producer of factual entertainment, producing both non-scripted and scripted programs. Since launch, Karga Seven has produced more than 300 hours of programming and has enjoyed great success working with a wide selection of leading US cable outlets, including Travel Channel (Booze Traveler), Discovery Channel (How Booze Built America with Mike Rowe), Science Channel (Futurescape with James Woods), Discovery ID (Cry Wolfe), and History Channel (Hunting Hitler). Karga Seven will continue to be led by Wetherbee, Sahin and McPherson. As part of the transaction, Karga Seven has entered into a worldwide distribution deal with Red Arrow’s sales arm, Red Arrow International.

The acquisition of Karga Seven is the latest step in Red Arrow’s rapid and ongoing expansion in the US production market. Existing Red Arrow Entertainment companies in the US include Half Yard Productions, Nerd TV, Kinetic Content, Fabrik Entertainment and Left/Right Productions. Recent Group productions in America include: Bosch (Amazon); Odd Mom Out (Bravo); Married at First Sight (A+E/fyi) and The Last Alaskans (Animal Planet).

Jan Frouman, CEO of Red Arrow Entertainment Group, said: “From the moment we got to know Sarah, Emre and Kelly, it was clear that they would be tremendous additions to our Group. We love their approach to development and production, share a common collaborative spirit, and feel that we can achieve real US and global growth together.”

Sarah Wetherbee, Executive Producers Karga Seven Pictures, added: “Since we started Karga Seven out of a tiny basement apartment in 2008, we’ve stayed true to three core principles: always have a strong point of view; take risks; and seek out and collaborate with the most talented, passionate people you can find. Those beliefs were integral in our decision to partner with Red Arrow. In Jan and his team, we immediately recognized kindred spirits who shared a similar vision, creatively and for the future. Red Arrow’s track record speaks for itself. Their global reach will play a key role in us expanding our scripted and unscripted footprint across various platforms. We’re beyond excited to be part of the team.”

Stella Advisors acted as financial advisor to Red Arrow on the transaction. Karga Seven Pictures was represented in the transaction by Bryan Bowles and Ron Milkes of Bryor Media Partners.
