Red Arrow International has picked up the distribution rights to new 6 x half hour comedy series “Squinters”, produced by Jungle Entertainment and commissioned by ABC Australia, with principal production investment from Screen Australia in association with Create NSW.

“Squinters” celebrates the great ritual of the daily commute to work, following the trials and tribulations of five carloads of travellers in the peak hour morning commute, and again on their drive home, to find out how their workdays turned out.

Created by Trent O’Donnell (The Moodys, No Activity) and Adam Zwar (Wilfred, The Lowdown), the show is currently filming in Sydney and Los Angeles, and will premiere on ABC in early 2018.

A strong ensemble cast includes Academy Award® and Golden Globe nominee Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook, Animal Kingdom), multi award-winning performer/composer Tim Minchin, Logie Award-winner Miranda Tapsell (The Sapphires), Mandy McElhinney (Love Child), Logie Award-winner Damon Herriman (Secret City), Sam Simmons (The Urban Monkey), Andrea Demetriades (Janet King), actor and director Wayne Blair (Cleverman, The Sapphires), Christiaan Van Vuuren (Top of the Lake: China Girl), Justin Rosniak (Mr Inbetween) and Jenna Owen (Shan and Kate), along with young comic talents Susie Youssef (Rosehaven), Rose Matafeo (NZ’s Funny Girls), Steen Raskopoulos (BBC’s Top Coppers), YouTube star John Luc (aka ‘MyChonny’) and the UK’s Nyasha Hatendi (Hulu’s Casual).

Henrik Pabst, Managing Director of Red Arrow International, said: “Jungle has a great track-record in producing successful, hilarious comedy, and we are delighted to be distributing their latest show. Featuring an impressive cast and creative team, and a universal setting that lends itself to comedy, ‘Squinters’ promises to be a hit around the world.”

“Squinters” is created by Trent O’Donnell and Adam Zwar, and produced by Chloe Rickard, with Executive Producer Jason Burrows and ABC Executive Producers Andrew Gregory and Rick Kalowski.
