This month Gravitas Ventures has announced the acquisition of a broad range of scripted and documentary feature films including Just a Breath Away, Transformer, Tucked, What Still Remains, and Dr Brinks & Dr Brinks.

Gravitas acquired US rights to French-language apocalyptic thriller Just a Breath Away, directed by Daniel Roby and starring Romain Duris (The Beat That My Heart Skipped, Heartbreaker) and Olga Kurylenko (Oblivion, Quantum of Solace), which is set for a 2019 release.

Hot Docs Festival award-winner Transformer, directed by Michael del Monte, was also acquired for US distribution. The feature documentary will have an Academy Award qualifying run and is available on demand from October 19.

Gravitas also secured worldwide rights excluding the UK to Tucked, a dramedy written and directed by Jamie Patterson. The film had its world premiere this month’s Outfest LGBTQ Film Festival where it scooped the Best Narrative Audience Award. An early 2019 release is planned to coincide with the British theatrical release.

The company has secured North American rights to post-apocalyptic thriller What Still Remains from Strike the Sun Entertainment. Written and directed by Josh Mendoza, the film stars Lulu Antariksa (T@gged), Colin O’Donoghue (Once Upon a Time), and Mimi Rogers (Ginger Snaps). What Still Remains will have a limited theatrical run at the Laemmle Music Hall 3 in Beverly Hills from August 10 and is available on demand from August 14.

Gravitas Ventures also acquired North American rights to Josh Crockett’s directorial debut, Los Angeles set dramedy Dr Brinks & Dr Brinks, starring Scott Rodgers and Kristin Slaysman. Dr Brinks & Dr Brinks will open in theaters in New York and Los Angeles on August 17 and is available on demand from September 4. Dr Brinks & Dr Brinks was written by Josh Crockett and Jonathan Pappas, and produced by Ted Speaker, Kristin Slaysman, and Dan Riesser. The film also stars Ashley Spillers and Robert Longstreet. Explosive Bolts Films and Cervidae Productions produced the film in association with Nice Dissolve, Salem Street Entertainment and Wraith Films.
