VANITY FAIR: ‘In Its Second Season, Bosch Is Everything True Detective Should Have Been’

“Bosch” has scooped a rave review in this month’s Vanity Fair, joining a raft of critical acclaim for Season Two of the hit crime show.

James Wolcott, cultural critic for Vanity Fair, said that ‘Bosch’, ‘leans into the steering wheel with complete confidence, control, and seasoned-pro know-how’ and is ‘everything that True Detective Season 2 should have been’.

“Bosch” acclaim has also come from Deadline Hollywood, hailing Season Two as “Top-notch TV” and “seamlessly executed”, and the New York Times, extolling the “intense” and “highly satisfying” pleasures of “Bosch” with its “convincing realism and an avoidance of contrived, sensational storylines… The attention to the details of investigative work and the texture of cops’ lives is impressive”; as is its “excellent cast”.
